Maggie is a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist holding a Diploma from Zestlife College, and a BA(HONS) degree in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy with IICP and is a Fully Accredited member IACP.
She continues to upskill regularly attending CPD courses both onsite in Zestlife and externally. She also holds a certificate in Special Needs Training from the School of Practical Childcare.
Maggie is the Clinical Manager at Zestlife Therapeutic Services, and has been working amongst the wonderful team here since 2017. Before this, she worked with support groups, (parenting and postnatal depression support), students, fostering, and outreach. Maggie is a wife, mother of three teenagers, and shares a home with their four rescue dogs and the odd hamster or two!
Her passion lies with helping people through the tough times in life. She works with Adults and Adolescents. She has a keen interest in helping parents and adolescents learn to understand each other a little more and communicate more effectively, and loves working on a one-to-one basis with all clients as they navigate through the ups and downs of life.
Maggie offers general counselling, however, areas of particular interest to her are:
- Anxiety/Stress/Depression (also Post Natal Depression)
- Parenting and family communication
- Life transitions
- Women’s issues.
Sessions are tailored with the client, and together both the client and Maggie will decide the best approach, using influences from a mixture of modalities including Person Centred Therapy, Psychodynamics, Solution Focused, CBT, Internal Family Systems and also some Life Coaching.
Together the client and Maggie will gently look at the situations, thought patterns and behaviours that can be getting in the way, and will consider how to improve this and look to the future with hope!
Maggie decided to train and qualify as a Psychotherapist after having her own therapeutic journey, which impacted her so much it left her with a strong desire to help others regain control of their situations. To Maggie, the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between client and counsellor!
