Maria is a fully qualified psychotherapist with a Masters in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy (Clinical) from the Tivoli Institute/SETU and a Higher Diploma in Psychotherapy Studies from UCD. She works in a humanistic, integrative, person-centred way, focused on providing a supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, seen, and accepted for who they are. Her aim is to facilitate clients to work towards gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and of their difficulties, to improve their relationship with their self and others, to heal from past traumas and to live a life that is more aligned with their own values and desires.
She also speaks four languages (Greek, Italian and French, besides English) and has a Masters in International Economics and Management from Bocconi University in Milan, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from the American College of Greece. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist Maria lived with her family in several countries in Europe and Asia, either working in marketing, advertising and banking or raising her two adopted children. Her extensive life experiences have provided her with a deep appreciation of the diversity of the human experience but also with an understanding of the universal need for connection, acceptance and hope that we all share. It is these qualities that inspire and guide Maria’s sessions and it is her belief that healing and positive therapeutic change can only happen through a good therapeutic relationship.
Maria is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP), currently working towards full accreditation.
