Alina Raducanu

Integrative Holistic Play Therapist

Alina has been working with young children and their families for over 20 years. In this time she developed a passion for understanding how children play and the importance of play in children’s holistic development. Over the last 8 years, through continued professional development, she discovered the connection between emotional regulation and children’s cognitive abilities. Her studies culminated with a 1st class honours post graduate diploma in play therapy. She is now working towards her accreditation in her private clinic at home and through collaborations with ZestLife and Shannon’s Hopeline. Play therapy has been proven to be an effective intervention for: abuse, ADHD, anger, attachment issues, autistic spectrum, behaviour problems, loss/bereavement , bullied/bullies, communication problems, delayed development, family relationships issues, lack of confidence, nightmares and more. The method used with children is child centred, non directive and integrative holistic. A full range of therapeutic creative arts media are used for communication with children ( sand tray worlds, painting and drawing, clay, music, puppets, dance and movement, creative visualisation and therapeutic story telling). The tool kit integrates directive and non directive approaches, working with the conscious and unconscious, it combines theory with neurobiological evidence as well as practice and research.
