Integrative Psychotherapist
Avril is a qualified integrative Psychotherapist and counsellor and is certified by IICP to work with children and Adolescents.
She is currently in her final year of her Masters with IICP specialising in Children and Adolescent Counselling. She is married and as a mother of 3 young Adults she shares great affinity with Adolescents, providing them with ways of coping with life’s challenges. She enjoys Art and integrates different creative modalities into her counselling work. She has years of experience of working with Youth Clubs and engaging with teenagers, but loves working with people of all ages. She offers her clients a warm, friendly space that is confidential and non-judgmental, where trust within the therapeutic relationship can develop and grow. This therapeutic relationship is key to Avril’s approach and ethos and facilitates a safe environment where a wide range of issues may be explored so that clients can develop their inner strengths and abilities to help them build up their self-esteem.
Her integrative approach includes person-centred, Psychodynamic, CBT and Schema therapy counselling, SPICC and play therapy and the use of sand tray.
