Dermot Wheatman

Dermot began his journey into the profession of Counselling and Psychotherapy through his involvement as a volunteer worker with the charity organisation Cycle Against Suicide. Here he loved to connect and with people, and to support those who were experiencing challenges around depression, anxiety, stress related issues, and suicide ideation.
In 2017 Dermot earned his first Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. This provided the opportunity for Dermot to continue with his studies in mental health. He achieved an advanced certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and a professional certificate in working with adolescents.
More recently Dermot obtained a BA (hons) degree in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. He is currently studying for a post graduate diploma Therapeutically Working with Adolescents. Dermot has extensive experience in working with both adult and adolescent clients.
Working from a person cantered approach, Dermot draws on both personal and professional experience to create a compassionate, non-judgemental, safe, and comfortable environment where the therapeutic relationship is most important to empower his clients as they journey therapeutically.
