Sarah is an experienced Play Therapist whose qualifications include a BA in Psychology, an MA in Play Therapy, and a Diploma in Coaching. She has also completed specialized training in Filial Therapy (parent-child relationship therapy). As a member of the Irish Play Therapy Association (IPTA), Sarah actively participates in regular clinical supervision, ensuring her Play Therapy practice remains effective and up to date.
Sarah combines her extensive therapeutic training with more than 20 years of professional social care experience at Barnardos, the trauma-specialist children’s charity, supporting children and their families impacted by adversity.
Sarah’s approach is child-centered and playful, prioritizing the creation of a safe and supportive environment where every child feels heard, understood, and secure. Within this nurturing setting, Sarah helps children and teens express themselves, process, and resolve difficult emotions and experiences at their own pace. Her focus on emotional resilience is enhanced through close collaboration with parents and carers, ensuring that the support provided in therapy continues at home.
In addition to Play Therapy, Sarah offers Parent and Carer Consultations using Coaching and Filial Therapy interventions. These are intended to support children and their parents/carers by promoting parent-child
relationships and offering practical strategies to strengthen parent-child relationships at home.
